What I Stand For
Pedestrianisation around Campus
It should be safe for Students to walk around campus. I am advocating for Students to be in an unpolluted and more peaceful space around and between campus space. We should be seeing more pedestrianisation in the roads around campus. Via Article 4.1 and 5.4(c) of the Union's Memorandum and Articles of Association, the Union has power to accomplish this through influencing Camden Council.

Opening up Walkways
To get from Gower Street to the Engineering Building we have to all the way around the Campus. To get from Gower Place to the South Cloisters we have to go through the Student Centre. Taking repetitive and large detours degrades the campus experience, Students should be made aware of what thoroughfares are open, and there should be a push to open as many as we can.
Zero Food Waste
The Students' Union Cafés would be wasting hundreds of items of food on a weekly basis if not for the efforts of a largely unsupported Student Led Project. The Union should be taking its own action by slashing prices if they overstocked.
A Students' Union
We should encourage the Union to employ more students and people who are actually passionate to work for it, encouraging a higher turnover rate through graduate schemes to ensure that the Union is full of new ideas to better reflect its Student body.
Officer Accountability
The current Societies Officer has not appeared and is not doing their job, this is disrespectful to the Students who voted them in. Societies have been left without a line of communication and a person to support them. The role of Societies Officer is poorly defined, it needs to be reformed to better serve the different kinds of societies that this university offers. I am presenting a policy to reduce turnover times to replace Officers who haven't been fufiling their duties at all. Officer positions should be filled by those who care about the role.
Reducing Dead Space
All around campus there are spaces not used as thoroughfares that are empty. From the Huxley Court to the South Junction we could add seating, Student art initiatives, social spaces, notice boards and more.

A Union Building
This has been in the books for a while, I'd make sure it gets over the line.
Supporting Palestine
Under Charity Law in the UK, the Union cannot legally take a stance. However, I would work to ensure that UCL divests from all investments complicit with the genocide in Palestine.
Better Digital Infrastructure
As somone with experience in web development, the Union's systems are clearly outdated. Presidents and Treasurers who handle forms are faced with convoluted connections and sluggish webpages. Furthermore, students who want to engage with the Union find it difficult to do so due to barriers imposed by the Union's own website. The digital multimedia should be updated to better serve Students.
Improved Storage Solutions
There is not enough safe and sufficient storage for the societies that make up the bulk of engagement. Existing storage solutions such as the range suffer from exposed insulation and damp conditions - it should be made safe. There should also be an effort to find more storage spaces.

What I Have Already Done
Been Recognised
I am your incumbent Societies Personality of the Year 🏆. Last year I attended dozens upon dozens of events, met so many of the wonderful people at UCL, and understood what and who it is that makes this place alive, the people who run it, and the people who participate. I want to carry this forward in a position of responsibility.
Fought for Accountability
Students should be made aware of the decisions which affect them. I advocate for all zone meetings to be recorded so that Students know whats going on and will be presenting a policy to ensure that Students know about the decisions that affect them.
Pushed for Pedestrianisation
I advocated for the pedestrianisation of Gower place at a Camden Council consultation as the only member of the Students' Union or UCL present. I wrote an article on the recent consultation regarding the pedestrianisation of Gordon Square. I will be presenting at the next Welfare & Community Zone to push that the Union should lobby Camden Council for more pedestrianisation around Camden.

Addressed Food Waste in Union cafés
As project leader at Zero Food Waste UCL, we are responsible for delivering food waste from Union cafés to local food banks. We are responsible for accounting for food waste for Union cafés. This should not be our responsibility; The Union has a legal duty to handle its own food waste.
Spent Unreasonable Amounts of Time on Campus
I am a known figure within the Union. I have the connections to make the changes needed. This is because I spend all day every day of the week on campus. I've had the pleasure of knowing people across dozens of societies and at all levels of the Union, I will leverage my connections to make sure that what the Union spends its money on what it needs.
Made Taylor Swift Karaoke Nights Even Better
Before, the society was manually selecting YouTube videos for the next song to sing along to. I set up an automatic karaoke system to make the nights run ad-ree
Brought Societies Together
I serve on a variety of committees of arts and non-arts societies. I get societies collaborating together in workshops, bars and beyond. The wider arts community gathers at Arts Awards, but not much beyond that, I am working on a Megasocial to bring together over 20 arts societies.
Consulted on UCL200
I sat on the UCL200 Student Advisory Body and opposed discussion surrounding renaming of bars; I believe we need more campus identity.
Served as Activities Representative
I was elected as Activities Representative and have been representing all societies at Activities Zone even before I got the role and have acted as a voice for the many societies I participate in.
Worked with Higher Ups
I have already unofficially collaborated with higher ups in the Union, Last year, I worked with Postgraduate Sabbatical Officer to run events. This year I'm in contact with Activities & Engagement Officer making sure societies are represented. I also have an audience with the Students' Union President surrounding food waste in Union cafés.
Organised Storage
Musical Theatre Society's Storage was an infamous mess, I tackled the issue head on by testing equipment and reorganising the shelves to make the space that two societies use more accessible.
And More...
From helping run public speaking society, supporting several shows in the Bloomsbury Theatre last year as a student technician, to reading the governing documents in full, and pushing for a commuters network, and organising Musical Theatre Society's storage in full, there are aspects of the community that I miss
